Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with house work, blog work, and life in general that I procrastinate. Okay, who am I kidding?! Not just sometimes…. a LOT of the time! I’m really trying to get better about it but it doesn’t always work out so well. Whenever I am procrastinating I will find any and everything else to do instead of what I actually should be doing or working on. Then I am left feeling really stressed out and rushed to get things done in a timely manner. It’s a never-ending process, it seems. Does anyone else have this problem?
Many things have aided in my procrastination – from Facebook, Twitter, reality TV shows, and I even like to play mobile bingo. Every now and then I’ll even pretend that I’m crafty just to get out of the “not so fun” work. Haha! I really need some tips and suggestions for time management and staying on track! I’m bad about starting things and not finishing them like cleaning, projects, blog posts, etc. I have to say, though, that I ‘get it honest’ because everyone in my family procrastinates. I have heard that setting a timer really helps a lot of people to stay on one task for a specific amount of time, but whenever I have tried the timer trick in the past, even that hasn’t worked out so well – usually because I finally get in my groove and then I don’t want to stop when the timer goes off and move on to the next thing; instead, I want to finish doing what I’m working on (which, is the point anyway, right?!). I seriously need an intervention!
What do you do to keep from getting distracted?
