A little over a month ago my family of four headed to Atlanta, Georgia for the night. We had a trip planned to the North Georgia mountains with the rest of my family, but we decided to go up a day earlier than everyone else so that we could spend some time in Atlanta. I am so glad we did! While in Atlanta, we had the opportunity to stay at the Westin Peachtree Plaza. I have always admired this hotel for its unique shape and extreme height and I was so excited for the opportunity to check out everything the hotel has to offer for myself!
When we arrived at the hotel we had the option to self-park or use valet, and there were also plenty of staff members to help with our luggage. Once inside we were greeted by several employees as we made our way to the check-in desk. The check-in process itself was extremely easy and we were ecstatic to hear that we would be staying on the 60th floor for the night! We got our room keys, as well as two tote bags for the kids that each had a water bottle inside! This was thanks to the Westin® Kids Club and it made the kids feel special, which I appreciated.
From the moment we entered our room, the kids were in awe! I have to admit, Luke and I were also amazed by the gorgeous view we were greeted with!
The Heavenly® Bath in our room was certainly that; heavenly. Not only does it provide an overhead rain experience, but it also has the handheld Heavenly® Shower, which was awesome! Each double room at the Westin features the tub/shower combo, while King rooms feature a walk-in shower.
Other amenities in the room included:
For dinner we decided to order room service. That was definitely the easiest route to go with two hungry kids and the menu looked delicious so we were eager to try it out. Luke and I both ordered the Flame-grilled Bacon Burger which was ground chuck with a choice of cheddar or Swiss cheese, onion, tomato and lettuce, and a choice of sea-salted French fries or arugula salad. We opted for the French fries! For the kids, we ordered off the Westin Eat Well Menu for Kids. They had the chicken fingers, which were baked chicken with corn-flake breading served with carrots, celery sticks, and a low fat ranch sauce.
Everything was delicious! They brought all the condiments we needed with the food right to our room. Once we were finished eating, we simply rolled the cart outside of our door into the hall and the staff came to get it. Super simple and easy, and much appreciated with two little ones in tow!
While we had been waiting on our dinner to arrive, we decided to check out the Westin’s pool and gym. We were pleasantly surprised by both! When staying at the Westin, you will have access to their state-of-the-art cardio machines, free weights, and strength training equipment in the Westin Workout Fitness Studio, as well as their indoor/outdoor pool that has a retractable roof, which is perfect for all seasons!
The room itself was very spacious for the four of us and the Heavenly® Beds were so comfortable with their high thread count sheets, down cushioning, and pillow-top mattresses.
Maybe my favorite thing about our stay at the Westin was watching the sunset from the 60th floor! What an amazing view it was!
The next morning before check-out, we went downstairs and had breakfast in The Café. They had a Southern-style buffet breakfast including eggs made to order, homemade breakfast cereals, fresh pastries, Belgian waffles, fruit, and a la carte items. The Westin Eat Well Menu for Kids also includes breakfast options, such as: a Ham, Egg, & Cheese Quesadilla, a Baby Spinach & Cheese Omelet, and Breakfast cereal!
The staff and atmosphere at The Westin was so welcoming that we did not want to leave. Unfortunately we had to, but not before taking an 85-second elevator ride up 723 feet to the observatory View Level at the top of the Westin. From here we were able to get a 360-degree panorama view of the city of Atlanta. I am so glad we didn’t miss out on this!
We are looking so forward to staying here again in the future!
