The Georgia Aquarium (Part 1)

momma-disclosure2

When Luke and I got married in 2007, we didn’t have a chance to take an extended honeymoon since he was deploying soon. Instead, we went to Atlanta for the weekend and did some tourist-y things while there. My favorite part of the trip was visiting the Georgia Aquarium – it was the first visit for both of us. We absolutely loved it! However, that was nearly seven years ago and I didn’t remember a whole lot about it. Now that we have Kynlee and Greyson, we really wanted to take them, so, that’s exactly what we did a few weeks ago.

We arrived around noon on a Friday. This was before school started back so there were still a good number of people visiting the aquarium that day. The crowd was not really an issue for us in most areas. The aquarium provides a place for stroller parking which was very convenient since we didn’t want to take the stroller with us through all of the exhibits and we could not take it with us to the Dolphin Tales show.

I was amazed at how much I had forgotten, and some of it I am not even sure that we saw the last time Luke and I went. Our absolute favorite part of the Georgia Aquarium that we didn’t get to experience the first time we went was the Dolphin Tales Show. It was AWESOME and the kids loved it, which was a definite plus. We sat up high (at the very top, to be exact) so that the kids could see the show well and wouldn’t have to worry about blocking others’ views if they wanted to stand up. We will definitely do that again next time we visit. Pictures are not allowed during the show, so you will just have to visit so you can see for yourself! I promise it is worth it! It was very captivating and our whole family loved it.

Without a doubt, Kynlee’s favorite part of the aquarium trip was the Stingray pool. The girl could not get enough! She didn’t really want to touch them, though. She would act like she was going to and then change her mind, ha! She just really loved watching them swim around. They also had baby hammerhead sharks in the pool with the stingrays.

After the Dolphin Tales Show, it was time for some lunch! We stopped by Café Aquaria and were pleasantly surprised by the many choices they offered. I decided on a bacon cheeseburger and french fries, which were both good!
