Growing up, our home was always decorated for Christmas in every little nook. To this day, they still go all out with their decorations and it makes their home so warm and inviting! Even the bathrooms have mini Christmas trees in them at my parents’ house and I LOVE it. I am attempting to build up my Christmas décor like my parents, slowly but surely. One thing that I remember about the decorating process is the frustration that comes along with Christmas lights that no longer work, or either stop working after you’ve already strung them. This year I was presented with the opportunity to review the LightKeeper Pro and I jumped at the chance! The LightKeeper Pro is the first product designed to fix defects in your holiday lights sets with just the simple squeeze of a trigger!
Most of the miniature holiday light set failures happen when an individual bulb “shunt” fails to energize. These shunts are energized when a filament burns out. This can cause about 35-50 lights on a strand to go out, instead of just the one. The LightKeeper Pro Quick Fix Trigger sends a shaped, electrical pulse through the defective bulb that clears the shunt and allows it to operate properly. Then, the current can flow through the light set completing the circuit and illuminating the other bulbs.
I only wish I had known about this product sooner! I cannot tell you how many light sets we have thrown out because there did not seem to be an easy fix for the holiday lights when half of the strand was out! I also love that there is built-in storage space for extra bulbs so that you always have some handy! Whenever you open a box of lights and the little bag of extra bulbs fall out, you can just empty them in the storage space on the LightKeeper Pro and have them when you need them. I never threw away the extra bulbs, but I definitely didn’t have a designated place for them, so they were kind of strewn here and there in our boxes of Christmas decorations. Now I can keep them right where I will be able to find them.
The audible voltage detector, with its red LED indicator light, on top of the LightKeeper Pro offers another way to fix your light sets in just a few easy steps, if the Quick Fix trigger does not fix your problem. It works by locating where the flow of electricity has stopped by detecting a minute electrical field. This will cause the device to start beeping and continue to do so throughout the rest of the scan of the strand of lights. The beeping will stop where the issue is, and you can begin repairing from there.
The video below will give you an overview of the LightKeeper Pro so you can better understand how it works!
