For quite some time now, I’ve been searching for an alternative way to charge my phone when on the go. Sure, there are car chargers but I’m not always in my car. Since I have a toddler who likes to play on my phone and watch Disney Jr. shows on it, the battery can die rather quickly. Let’s just say, it isn’t a pretty sight when she’s being distracted by
the phone and then it no longer works. I’m sure many parents can relate.
When browsing through the BuyGreen website recently, I came across a solar charger for iPhones called the Mobius, by Eton. It says that the Mobius is “perfect for those who are constantly on their phone playing games or making calls”…. which described us perfectly! With the Mobius, you can be charging your phone whether you are in natural or ambient light. It has a 1800mAh rechargeable lithium ion battery that charges via a micro USB cable so I just charge it up, then put it in standby mode until I need to use it.
Having this solar charger is especially important to me because my plugin in my car isn’t working currently and therefore I haven’t had a way to charge my phone when out and about. As I mentioned earlier, the phone gets used a ton, and the battery is pushed to the max…so I am really thankful to have a way to charge my phone back up and not risk breaking down with it having a dead battery! In the picture to the left, you can see a few of the lights on the Mobius lit up. While charging, the lights move back and forth and once fully charged, all 4 will be lit up.
If you have a protective case on your phone (or any type of case for that matter), you will have to remove it in order to use the Mobius. Your phone will fit snuggly into the solar charger as it provides a casing of its own. For me, it’s not that big of a deal to remove my cover whenever I need to charge my phone with it. I’d much rather remove my cover then go without a powered phone! The Mobius will work with iPhone 4 or 4s and it comes in white or black.
